another thing to fret about in tsd is the perpetual worry that you'll miss the last bus home. to be stranded at a creepy bus stop with nobody human while you forlornly gaze into the distance and sucking the dust of the last bus home is rather freaky. no doubt, this is cosmopolitan singapore, not a run down village, where the transportation system is beyond efficient. but if you have no cash for a cab, you're finished.
i have mentally prepared myself for the worst case scenario. so should i ever lose my handphone and miss the last bus, i will not panic. i will not worry about the fact that the bus stop i am stranded at is right in front of a dilapidated building which probably was not used since the japanese occupation for a reason which i do not wish to conjure up. i will stay calm. i will walk to the nearest public phone and pray that i have coins. failing which, i willl calmly head to the nearest proprietor and hope that the good samaritan will allow me to make a phone call. i will make sure that i walk in bright areas or the moonlight (a chance to go dancing in the moonlight) to ensure that i dont get raped along the hard journey towards safety.

oh what crap. as if anyone would even want to rape me.
sheesh, and to think i was reflecting about the standard of living in other third world nations. here i am, worrying about not getting home while others worry about their home being destroyed by disasters. exaggerating much? singapore is such a safe country. and my days of tsd crewing wont last much longer, i should think.
but then again, even if i lie down in geylang, people will probably dismiss me as a piece of branch. PAH.
(and no, i'm not some despo freak wanting to be raped)
